‘Yellow woods’ is Nubims 1st album.

Her artist name, Nubim, is a Korean word meaning threading through. She hopes to thread her way into the hearts of people and bring new light, as a "new beam"[Nubim]. She majored in architecture before studying music composition in university.

The music she made is very unique among the contemporary jazz. For example, she would try to compose her music that converts visual spatial into acoustical image. As well as she would try to express her music that matches sound and visual images such as paintings or photography. So Nubim composed the music of this album based on the visual images of her mothers paintings. Each visual image had been translated into the music of each track.

This album contains Nubims idea and passion as well as all of her mothers paintings. The theme of this album is East and West colliding in an expression of Jazz. And this album almost has instrumentals and some a few vocal tracks. It was experimentally attempted by the mixing of sound with Latin percussions and Korean traditional instruments for making unique and fantastic mood in this album.

The title music ‘Yellow woods’ was motivated by the inspiration during when Nubim’s tour in Thailand with her family. When she entered into the forest of yellow trees riding on the back of an elephant, she saw a lot of the yellow trees soaring into the sky. There was only a yellow color all over in the forest. It was a great shock for her. So Nubim expressed the inspiration from the ‘shock of yellow color’ in this song ‘Yellow woods’ with the dynamic rhythm and addicted melody lick. It is so awesome!

This album has been highly praised by the reviewers of MIDEM (Marché International du Disque et de lEdition Musicale) in Cannes, France. And it has been introduced the articles of some music magazines regarding as this album with the critics’ good credits in Europe.

This album was mixed up at Kranspur Studio (Mixing Engineer: Dieter Sailer) in Innsbruck, Austria for the premium quality of sound. And all of tracks were encoded by Apple Lossless Encoding Type to maintain the highest quality of sound.
